Department of Early Education and Care
photoIn 2005, Massachusetts streamlined governance by creating the nation’s first independent Board and Department of Education and Care, which consolidated the state’s early education and child care agencies. The creation of the department is critical to the state’s efforts to develop an effective and accountable system of high-quality early education for all Massachusetts children.
